Top News and Magazines Apps on Android in Central America Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, several news and magazine apps on the Android platform in Central America exhibited noteworthy performance trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps experienced varying patterns in downloads, revenue, and active users.

X (Formerly Twitter) from X Corp. saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching roughly $9.3K by the end of March. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at about 123K in early February, while active users maintained a robust presence, averaging around 15M throughout the quarter.

SkyAlert: Alerta Sísmica reported a significant spike in weekly downloads at the start of January with 24.5K. Revenue saw a notable increase mid-February, reaching close to $4K. Active users fluctuated, initially peaking at 220K before settling around 33K by the end of March.

Alerta Sísmica México - SASSLA experienced a dramatic surge in downloads in early January, reaching 174K. Weekly revenue showed variability, peaking at $3.1K in March’s final week. Active users initially soared to 1.4M at the beginning of the quarter, before stabilizing around 140K by quarter’s end.

EL PAÍS observed a gradual decline in revenue from $2.2K to under $1K by March’s end. Downloads remained relatively low, with a maximum of 293 in the first week of January. Active users were stable throughout the quarter, averaging around 1.5K.

EL NORTE showed consistent revenue figures, averaging around $1.3K weekly, with a slight dip to $1K at the end of March. Downloads hovered below 100 for most of the quarter, with active user data not available for analysis.
